Rähinä Special (Uniikki, Brädi, Spekti) Live Wanaja Festival, 19.7.2014

Rähinä Special taking over the stage in Wanaja Festival 2014

Aight! This time we'll have some hip hop flavoured images to show. Uniikki, Brädi and Spekti rocked the stage and the audience we're on it from the start to finish!

Enjoy!

Robin in the Park, Hämeenlinna 20.7.2014

This was part of the series of extra concerts of Wanaja Festival 2014 with Vesa-Matti Loiri's show which took place a day earlier.

For what it's worth I really think this artist has been doing good to the younger generations. There really hasn't been anything like this in a while here in Finland and it's really nice to see that music can still make such an impact. Yes, it is directed straight to the youngsters, but there's really nothing wrong with that and I think it's rather important that a generation has a good, uplifting and positive role model.

Yet again I must take my hat off in front of Robin. The show was really intense and the energy was really high, in all ways. Boy sure has talent. The way he goes all over the stage is just mind blowing. Not many of us could do that!

It's gonna be nice to follow Robin and seeing him evolving. Hope that everything will turn out well for him in the future as well!

Anna Abreu Live Wanaja Festival, Hämeenlinna, 19.7.2014

Anna Abreu was part of the Festival program and as I was doing the whole festival I had the opportunity to challenge myself on taking pictures of artists that I really knew nothing about. And it's always challenging when You don't know what to expect. You don't know which settings will suit the situation etc. In vice versa when you shoot artists lots of times, you learn to see them in a different way.

You get to know their manners, nuances, moving, patterns. basicly everything they do there on the stage. In ways it makes the job easier, you get better photos when you know the subject, know the songs, know what to expect. So I was very eager and willing to go through all the gigs in Wanaja Festival. It was one big learning weekend. Thinking outside the box. See, in this, photographing, there is always way to challenge yourself, always something you can learn. If you wish.

Challenge accepted and here's the result. What ya think? I think i did pretty well?

And last, I must say that this popular music scene has been pretty much "out of my league" so to say, but I must give whole lots of credit to Anna at this time since it is hard to dance around the stage like crazy and still being able to sing like that. Hands down! Job well done!

Jukka Poika & Sound Explosion Band Live Wanaja Festival, Hämeenlinna. 18.7.2014

Reggae, OK?

Finland's very own reggae artist Jukka Poika was performing in Wanaja Festival with is notorious Sound Explosion band on 18th of July.

For me this was another artist that was pretty much out of my own comfort zone and as I've never really listened to any of his records I didn't really know what to expect. I've heard them on the radio tho, but never really concentrated on it or dug into it.

But anyway, I managed to get some pretty decent shots here, so let's concentrate on them now. Shall we?
